Complete program:
In the first episode we take you to the discovery of Elisabetta Amalia Eugenia , better known as Sissi . She was born on December 24, 1837 in Munich and was the fourth of 10 children. A princess who did not have an easy life. Beautiful and tormented, Elizabeth always tried to move away from the rigid court of Vienna, which oppressed his desire for freedom. Sissi, in fact, never resigned herself to the imposed role of empress, wife and mother, but continued (in vain) to search for a dimension that expressed her individuality. A life, therefore, of profound loneliness and pain, to which was added the suicide of his son, hidden among the pomp of his court. The unexpected death, at the hands of Luigi Lucheni, was perhaps a consolation from his pain of living ..
The second episode will continue with Anastasia. Anastasija Nikolaevna Romanova was born in 1901, the fourth child of the last Tsar of Russia Nicholas II and of the Empress Alexandra. Before her were born (in order) the sisters Olga, Tatiana and Maria, after her the younger brother Alessio. Cheerful and impertinent, she was the liveliest of Nicholas II's intimate family. Very close to her father, whom she also resembled in the features of her face, she was plump and short, with blue eyes and auburn-blond hair. A housekeeper, Margaretta Eagar, described her as the most charismatic child she had ever seen. Like her sisters, she was raised in the most sober and humble way possible, despite her nature lively and energetic, sharp and brilliant. When the I world war was declared, according to some witnesses, Anastasia wept bitter tears. During the war one of the many rooms in the building had been used as a hospital where the wounded were hospitalized and Anastasia became patron of the hospital. The royal family was arrested during the Russian Revolution of 1917 and imprisoned in various residences. She was killed together with her father, mother, her three sisters Olga, Tatiana, Marija and her brother Alexei on 17 July 1918 by order of the Bolsheviks, who also concealed her bodies. According to some legends, however, Anastasia managed to survive and therefore continue the Russian royal lineage ..
In the third episode we take you to the discovery of Maria Antonietta. Born in Vienna in 1755, she married the heir to the French throne, Louis XVI. A new life began for Marie Antoinette: i his ways and his grace soon conquered the court and the people, but his success was short-lived. The light and sometimes imprudent nature of Marie Antoinette facilitated court crises and gossip: in years of economic crisis her casual spending seemed inappropriate. In other cases, he found himself in compromising situations in spite of himself. Soon, the press began to target her, publishing stories about her that ridiculed her, sometimes even dirty: Marie Antoinette "the Austrian" had become, and was until her death, a sort of scapegoat for all problems of France. His public life was certainly no more fortunate. The monarchy in fact had a sad ending, given that it was target of the French revolutionaries. After the outbreak of the revolution (1789), the royal family first had to undergo the supervision of the civil authorities. In 1793 the king, involved in counter-revolutionary activities, was executed. Marie Antoinette was also arrested and tried for crimes against the French Republic, and later guillotined on October 16, 1793.
We will close our tour with Elizabeth I. Elizabeth I, the last queen of the Tudor dynasty, ruled from 1558 until her death in 1603 with cunning and wisdom, transforming England into a rich, powerful nation devoted to trade but also favoring the arts and works of authors such as Shakespeare . Elizabeth I was born in 1533 in Greenwich, a borough of London. Daughter of King Henry VIII Tudor of England and Anna Bolena, second wife of the king married against the will of the Church of Rome, lost her mother at the age of three, who was beheaded by Henry VIII on charges of witchcraft and incest in order to get her out of the way to join another woman: Jane Seymour. After the death of his father in 1547, Elizabeth I lived through moments of great difficulty. Her half-sister Maria, who had married the King of Spain Philip II, had her locked up in the Tower of London prison to avert her accession to the throne and meditated on killing her during his reign. When he finally ascended the throne he was only 25 years old but was immediately appreciated for his strong character, brilliant intellect and vast culture. Red-haired and very elegant, she fearlessly dealt with men of every ream and seduced many, even though she never wanted to marry. His only purpose, he argued, was to devote himself to his beloved country. Mission that he fulfilled with great success: during his reign, not only did he succeed in the arduous task of managing the Church of England, but there was a great economic and cultural growth, fomented by the great patronage of the queen. He died on March 24, 1602 in the Palace of Richmond, close to seventy, shortly after having uttered the famous phrase "Call me a priest: I have decided that I must die".
